I am researching Edgar I. Williams' World War I Monument to further its restoration and preservation. This is an important sculpture / monument and is a masterwork of this renowned architect. It is located just a few blocks from where the architect lived all his life in Rutherford, NJ. The monument is extremely unique for its setting, use of cast granite, the architectural expression of Neo-Classical, American Renaissance architecture, electrical illumination and molded glass flame apex. I believe Mr. Williams was directly influenced in this work by his education at AAR and was inspired by the direct study of the Columns of Trajan and Marcus Aurelius. I would appreciate any information and comments to extend my research.
